When is it time to hire a lawyer?

|

It’s Never Too Early

The best time to seek legal advice is as soon as you believe that you might be accused or suspected of a crime. You don’t need to wait until you are directly confronted, or contacted by law enforcement. In fact the longer you wait, the more difficult your situation may become.

We can help run interference for you from law enforcement. This can include declining requests to submit to interviews, polygraphs, statements or searches when it isn’t in your best interest to cooperate. We can also help identify, locate and secure available evidence that could be critical for your defense.

How Appointments Work

The first step in getting help is to contact our office at 1-888-301-6004. This call is completely confidential and protected by the attorney-client privilege. When you call you will speak to a member of our staff who will help schedule your appointment to meet with an attorney. Initial appointments are held in our office located in downtown Lexington.

If you've already been contacted by law enforcement or arrested you should bring any paperwork you have relevant to your case. This includes police reports, witness statements, or warrants. The appointment is also confidential and protected by the attorney-client privilege. That is a legal "safe space" where you can discuss your situation without fear of judgment or anything you say being used against you.

If at the end of the appointment we feel that you can benefit from representation we'll tell you along with the exact cost. If your situation isn't that serious, or not the type we can assist with we will also tell you. There is no obligation to meeting with us to see how we can help.

How We Can Help

Since 2004, James Snell has meet with, counseled, and advised hundreds of people who are under investigation. This includes embezzlement, child molestation, pornography, and even murder. He has also represented countless individuals who have actually been arrested.

This experience gives him as a criminal defense attorney an insight into what situations are more likely than not to result in formal charges, the anticipated strength of the state’s case, and what steps can be implemented to best help avoid charges or set the stage for an effective defense.

It’s Never Too Late

If you’ve been trying to represent yourself, and are concerned that you’ve already made missteps, it’s still not too late to reach out for help. Maybe you have consented to a search, or made a statement you now regret. Whatever’s happened, there is still help for your situation. Don’t assume that the worst is going to occur or that it’s now hopeless. Although we’ve certainly seen many situations where delays in representation have made things much more serious, there is no situation where it’s impossible to receive any help.
