The South Carolina Supreme Court has released an Order dated March 21, 2011, for the disposition of pending DUI and DUAC cases in Lexington County.
In the Order They found that as of March 18, 2011, there were 34,385 pending criminal cases in the Lexington County Magistrate and Municipal Courts. Of these 578 were DUI or DUAC cases that were at least 60 days old without a jury trial request or 120 days old with a pending jury trial request.
The Court has Ordered that these cases be set for trial within 120 days and that our Courts notify South Carolina Court Administration with a report demonstrative compliance with this Order.
