A man was arrested in Portland, Oregon, after videotaping the speedomoter
of his car while driving more than 140 miles per hour. The man intended
on posting the video on YouTube. Instead he ended up in jail.
In addition to filming his car at high speeds the man also recorded the
police officer pulling him over and approaching his vehicle. He was charged
with reckless driving and speeding.
These videos are prolific on YouTube and other video sharing websites. Many
Courts in South Carolina would not hesitate to sentence someone driving at these speeds to jail.
Reckless driving and six point speeding violations both carry up to 30
days each.
